4 Living Home and Interiors Awards 2015

In the spirit of the film award season, which culminated with the Academy Awards, we have decided to put together our own list of awards. Take a look at our selections and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

BEST FURNITURE DESIGN

Winner - Skovby SM32 Walnut Dining Table

This award was one of the easiest to decide on. The SM32 table from Danish brand, Skovby, is one of the most innovative and unique designs we've ever seen. The table is made from an extremely high quality walnut veneer, and comes in a few different tones. The fancy extending mechanism transforms a relatively compact 4 person dining table into a 9 person dinner party centrepiece. The mechanism is also fun, which earns extra points from me! BEST RANGE

Winner - 4 Living Contemporary Oriental Black Lacquer

The contemporary oriental black lacquer range from 4 Living is the Meryl Streep of our collection of furniture and interior accessories; it's been around for a while, it never goes out of fashion, and it's about as versatile as...well, Meryl Streep!

The angular designs, combined with the authentic oriental lacquer finish, create a perfect balance between old and new. Distressed brassed handles add a soft vintage touch to the clean and clinical lines of the black lacquer pieces.

BEST INTERNATIONAL DESIGNER/BRAND

Winner - Hindustan House

4Living are an incredibly international brand, which made this award the toughest to decide on. Eventually, we decided to go for the biggest 'box-ticker'. Hindustan house are a Belgian brand which creates cabinets, sideboards and coffee tables out of re-conditioned old doors and timber from India. Their unique use of indian doors, especially, really helps their designs to stand out in amongst our other more typical contemporary designs.

BEST BRAND

Winner - Ethnicraft

Ethnicraft has been one our best selling and most trend setting brands over the past few years. This September we were fortunate enough to visit their HQ, just outside of Antwerp in Belgium, where we got a behind the scenes look into the company, as well as taking plenty of video footage while we were there. All of the Ethnicraft's solid wood ranges completely embody all of the design and ethical principles we have always championed.

BEST TIMEPIECE

Winner - White Modern Cuckoo Clock

Cuckoo clocks have been around for literally hundreds of years, yet German brand KooKoo have found a way to make them brand brand new and exciting - no mean feat. The modern cuckoo clock combine clean-cut white minimalism with an injection of modern colour. The little birds and pendulums are available in 5 different colours, giving you that little bit of extra personalisation.
