New IKEA Catalogue App Virtually Projects Furniture into your Home

We make no secret of the fact that flat=pack furniture isn't our cup of tea. 4 Living are all about study, hard wearing designs made from solid wood and other natural materials. However, we do like meatballs and free mini pencils. All jokes aside, IKEA is a great way of achieving a contemporary style on a budget. Also, meatballs.
IKEA may not be for us, but they sure do have some neat ideas. This new app for Android and iOS enables you to re-enact the famous parody from Fight Club by virtually projecting furniture on to your phone screen, enabling you to view the furniture 'in the room'. It's pretty darn cool.
Online shopping relies on giving the best impression of the product as possible. Innovations, such as this application from IKEA, will go a long way to developing the industry and giving online consumers as much information as they desire. On our own site, high definition product are our way of giving an extra depth and dimension to the online shopping experience.
The app itself is good looking, but not too user-friendly. I imagine this will pick up as more products are uploaded for 3D projection. Check out the video below.
