The Ultimate Space-Saving Apartment

The Ultimate Space-Saving Apartment

Wowzers. Talk about a Swiss army home. This Soho Apartment is the creation of LifeEdited, a interior consultancy company who are dedicated to making the most out of small space. In only 420 square feet, they have been able to create what is essentially 1100 feet of actual usable space. Three beds, a 10 seater dining table, kitchen, computer, home cinema, bathroom and buckets of storage make for a remarkable use of space.

As always, a few notes!

-A lot of the YouTube and Reddit comments were along the lines of "that would be way too much effort to actually use". My take on it is that this brand is trying to promote a healthy and innovative lifestyle, not a lazy free ride to style.

-The only gripe I really have is the cost. The whole project is reported to have cost in the region of $250/300,000, which doesn't even include the cost of the Soho (NY) apartment. For that kind of cost, you can afford more than 420 square feet!

-I do genuinely believe that you could live in this home with very few issues. It would take a while to get used to some things, but they've covered practically every base.

-The portable hot plates are a great idea. Serious chefs might find them a bit annoying, but they seem perfectly functional!

-If you haven't already, watch the video - there is a lot more to this place than meets the eye.

-The bicycle in the cupboard has had it's handlebars altered to fit into that space. #truthbomb

-The separating curtains are a nice touch. Really gives the sense of different room, as well as much needed privacy for guests.

-It's very impressive that the sliding wall has no electronic wiring issues. Very smooth.
